Nigel graduated from the Auckland School of Physiotherapy in 1989. Since then he has worked in a number of musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinics in New Zealand and abroad. On returning from the UK in 1997 Nigel returned to full time study at Otago University and graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy (Otago). He started his own practice in 2000 and founded Prohab Physio & Rehabilitation in 2001. Following a long course of part-time study at Massey University, Nigel graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Ergonomics in 2011. He has broad ranging interests and experience in musculoskeletal health, and more recently a strong interest in human factors (ergonomics) within the changing world of healthcare. A former NZ hockey Blackstick (1990,1992), Nigel now enjoys more leisurely trail running and wakeboarding with his teenage sons Thomas & Nico. Nigel is currently a member of:

- Spinal problems – spinal pain, neck pain, headaches, TMJ pain (Jaw) – postgraduate diploma in manipulative physiotherapy, advanced trigger point dry needling practitioner
- Work related injuries – postgraduate qualification in human factors/ergonomics
- Sports injuries – rehab of the running athlete
